DESCRIPTION:The Blairsville Scottish Festival and Highland Games are held at Meeks Park every year during the month of June. This exciting festival has been designated by the South Eastern Tourism Society as one of its top 20 events. You don’t want to miss it!\nThe Blairsville Scottish Festival and Highland Games feature many exciting activities and events. There is a Genealogy Tent that features information on the Scottish experience including history\, culture\, dress\, migration\, and the military.\nVendors include Scottish merchandise and great food. Several workshops are available on both days of the festival. Children especially enjoy the games\, music\, rides\, and fascinating animals (including Scottish Highland Cattle). There are Border Collie demonstrations and a chance to see Gordon Setters at work. The Georgia Falconry Association is available to demonstrate the art and practice of falconry.\nOther demonstrations include military reenactments that give an accurate portrayal of the early Scottish settlers of Georgia\, as well as those who fought for Scottish independence during the risings of the late 17th to mid 18th centuries. There is also a large selection Dancing at the Scottish Festivalof handcrafted Scottish weapons available along with a wealth of knowledge about the Scottish highlanders. Music\, dance\, and many other activities are scheduled during the festival.\nThe Blairsville Scottish Festival and Highland Games are an exciting and fun way to learn amazing things about our heritage. Come prepared to stay a while and experience a great time for the whole family!

SUMMARY:Spring Arts\, Crafts & Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 2015 Blairsville Arts\, Crafts\, and Music Festival will take place on Saturday\, May 23rd and Sunday\, May 24th around the Square in Blairsville and at the Mock-Butt House\, a half a block South of the Square. \nYou will enjoy visiting over sixty arts & crafts vendors from around the region along with some delicious mountain fair food. This year the organizers are adding three days of bluegrass\, gospel\, and country music to the event! \nThe festivities will begin on Friday night with music inside the Historic Courthouse from 6pm-10pm.\nOn Saturday there will be music inside the Courthouse from 10am-10pm along with four “jam session” tents around the courthouse lawn for anybody to pull up a chair and jam.\nThe Main Stage will be set up at the Mock House with more musicians playing from 10am-5pm.\nOn Sunday you will find even more music both inside the Courthouse and at the Mock House from 11am-5pm! \nThis festival is a great opportunity for you and your family & friends to explore all the amazing talent in the North Georgia mountain community. Whether you like arts & crafts\, listening to music\, or just meandering through the quaint town of Blairsville\, Ga\, make sure to mark your calendars for a weekend full of family fun! \nNote: A shuttle will be available to transport you between the two locations.
